There are many different business use cases for the "presentation of products only to users with some privileges" feature. Here are some examples:
-
A company that sells firearms can conceal products that require special licenses, such as submachine guns, only to customers who have the proper licenses and permits to own guns.
-
An online store selling dietary supplements can hide products that contain controlled substances only for customers who have been verified as doctors or pharmacists.
-
A company that sells prescription drugs can only hide these products for customers who have a valid prescription from a doctor
-
An online store selling chemical and laboratory products may hide products that require specialized knowledge and precautions, only for customers who have been verified as scientists or laboratory workers.
In either case, the function helps the company ensure safety and legal compliance, and enables it to sell specialized products to the right customers. Below is the configuration for the FGAZ authority requirement case.
Product configuration in EPIM
1. Log in to your EPIM
2. Go to the "Labels" tab and then create by clicking + a new label named "FGAZ"
3. Assign the FGAZ label to the product covered by the requirements
4. Wait about 5-20 minutes for the automatic import of changes on the product to take place.
Remember that the product must not have a "public" icon.
Configure settings in ONE
1.Log in to the backoffice panel
2. Go to "Configurations>Customer Segments" tab (It is worth remembering that the establishment of a segment can be created automatically by external systems such as ERPs)
3. Create a new segment named "FGAZ - entitlements".
4. Assign the created segment to customers who are to have visibility of products that require permissions. (Segment assignment can be automatic if you use an external system such as ERP.) How to assign a segment >>CHECK<<
5. In the final configuration step, set product visibility for the segment created in the steps above.
- Go to tabs - Configurations > Settings > Product visibility
- Assign a FGAZ product label to a segment
Perform tests
- Log in to the customer account with the assigned segment and see if it can see the FGAZ products - if it can see the products with the required permissions then you have done the configuration process correctly
Additional configuration options
- In addition, you can add a graphic called a label, which will be visible on the listing and inform that the product requires permissions. Follow the steps below:
- Go to tabs - Configurations > Settings > Product Labels
- We configure the "FGAZ" label by setting its visibility, adding graphics and description
- After configuring the label, we get this result:
2. Another additional option is to set products with the FGAZ label to be on inquiry.
- Go to the tabs - Configurations > Settings > RFQ
- In the "Special transport" field, enter the identifier of our label "FGAZ" (remember that it is case sensitive)
