Rebuilding the Point of Sale (POS) System in Transactional CMS
We know that salespeople need tools that allow them to place orders more efficiently without unnecessary steps that prolong the process. To address these needs, we have redesigned the POS view for both desktop and mobile versions. These changes aim to streamline and shorten the ordering process, particularly in the area of order summary and transaction finalization.
In the previous view, the "Place Order" button was located on the order summary page, which required the salesperson to go through an additional step in the process. Now, in response to user feedback, the "Place Order" button has been moved directly under the payment method selection. This change means that the salesperson will be able to place an order on the first screen, significantly reducing the time needed to finalize the transaction.
Despite introducing the option for faster order placement, we have not forgotten users who prefer to carefully review their order before completing it. Therefore, in the new view, a second button next to "Order" has been added – the "Summary" button. Clicking this button will allow the salesperson to move to a screen with a full order summary before it is finally confirmed. This way, each user can tailor the ordering process to their preferences, having both a quick ordering option and the ability to see a detailed summary.
Sorting Product Variants
In ONe, we have introduced the ability to manage the display order of product variants on the product card. This gives sellers full control over how their products are presented to customers. Introducing the option to sort variants makes the shopping process more intuitive and user-friendly, which in turn leads to a higher number of finalized transactions. Variant sorting is possible according to three criteria:
- Sorting by attribute value (name)
- Sorting by catalog number
- Keeping the order in which the products were imported from the PIM system
Adding a Gross/Net Switch to the Product Catalog
Salespeople often create shopping carts for their customers in their presence, and one of the most frequently asked questions is: "How much does it cost with VAT?" When working with a B2B customer, net prices are visible in the system, which means that to provide the gross price to the customer, the salesperson has to calculate the amount. This can cause unnecessary delays and disrupt the flow of the conversation. In ONe, we decided to improve this process so that the employee can quickly provide the necessary information.
A price switch has been introduced in the product catalog: gross/net. For a B2B customer, when net prices are visible upon opening the catalog, it is possible to switch to the gross price view. For a B2C customer, gross prices are visible, and they can be changed to net prices. The switch can be adjusted according to needs and works as a slider.
