What is the new functionality
Reservation of products on a sales order means that after placing an order, the amount of available products is reduced by the amount of products from the order. The reserved quantity is visible on the created sales order in the Reserved Quantity column.
Why is this so important for a B2B company?
The main benefit of reserving an item on a sales order is that it reduces the available quantity of the product by the quantity reserved on that order. The use of this mechanism prevents the release of too many goods, which could result in the inability to release goods on the basis of that order. This is particularly important if the external system does not create its own reservations for the given products.
How to use it
Enabling reservations in ONe
The ONe product reservations can be created for a given sales order after this option has been activated in the settings. To do this, go to CONFIGURATIONS > STORAGE > click the EDIT option that is visible next to the selected warehouse > select the option POSSIBLE TO RESERVE GOODS BY ONe > enter a value in the RESERVATION TIME field > UPDATE.
Warning:
The reservation time is valid for reservations on the shopping cart.
Time is not a parameter that determines the validity of a reservation on a sales order.
Quantity reserved on a sales order
Enabling ONe reservations on a specific warehouse causes the reserved quantity to appear on the sales order. This means that the quantity of available products will be reduced by the reserved quantity so that they cannot be sold.
Example:
There were 100 units of product X available in the central warehouse. An order for 20 units has been fulfilled. An ONe reservation for 20 units of the ordered product was automatically created. When attempting to add product X to the cart once again, 80 units are available.
Warning:
ONe reservation on a sales order is active until the external system retrieves
the order in question and change the stock quantity of the product.
Consequently, the external system should create an external reservation for the products
from the order in question.
